Permanent Makeup Colorado - Beauty by Design

HOW IS PERMANENT MAKEUP APPLIED?
Permanent make-up is accomplished by placing microscopic dots of pigment color in the dermal layer of the skin using a specifically designed instrument. The procedure usually takes one to three sessions of one to two hours each to achieve your desired results.

HOW LONG DOES PERMANENT MAKEUP LAST?
Depending on your skin type, age, and sun exposure, you can expect your permanent make-up to last from 5-10 years. Over this period of time the color will very gradually fade to the point where you will want to have it touched up. If your original work was done at Beauty by Design, you can be assured that fees for touch ups in the future are minimal. Think of the analogy of paint on a car. Its baked enamel withstands sun, rain, and years of weather wear and tear, but after a while even a car needs a touch up to keep it looking its best.

WHAT COLORS ARE AVAILABLE?
A wide range of colors are available to complement your skin tone and hair color. Because she has been an artist for 40 years, particularly in the medium of oil painting, Kathy enjoys custom mixing colors according to your preference.

DOES IT HURT?
Not as much as you might think, and it is only a minor, temporary discomfort because Kathy applies a topical anesthetic cream before beginning the procedures for eyebrows, eyeliner, scar camouflage, beauty marks, and areola repigmentation. She applies the cream throughout the procedure to keep the area numb. Several women have described the eyeliner as a tickling sensation.

IS IT SAFE?
According the Center for Disease Control, there have been no incidents of HIV attributable to tattooing, nor has there been an increase of Hepatitis B in those having permanent makeup. Kathy's extensive experience as a registered nurse is your assurance that she is very well apprised of proper sanitary conditions for performing procedures.

HOW CAN I FIND OUT IF I CAN HAVE A PROCEDURE DONE?
Kathy will provide a complimentary, confidential consultation at which you can examine Kathy's extensive portfolio of before and after photos and get answers to any questions you may have. She will also have you complete a health history form and let you know if you are a candidate for the treatments you are requesting. If you decide to have any procedures done, she will perform a sensitivity test to make sure that you are not allergic to the pigment. If you're still not sure after the consultation,  you are welcome to take your time in making your decision.
